10 Minute Pudding!

So, yesterday I was sitting around trying to keep my mind busy to try and forget about my driving test today (I Passed, Woo :D). I figured I needed a quick distraction so decided to make this recipe I found for an apple sponge with caramel sauce. Baking is an awesome stress reliever. You can do what you want (within reason) and you can eat it in at the end!
Anyway, I got home from college and put my plan into action after eating tea. Here's the recipe if you wanna try it:
Its awesome and really really simple to make. You just put everything in a bowl, mix it together and pop in a mug and into the microwave. Simples! I followed the instructions except that my butter wasn't completely soft so didn't mix together that well and I added a bit of cinnamon (cause they go together like shoes and shoelaces <3 ). I cooked it for about 5 minutes as well and halved the mixture so there was just enough for me and my brother.

May not look like much but my presentation skills aren't amazing just yet and half of it got stuck in my mug. So yeah, grease you mug loads!! or just eat out of it... I didn't use that recipe for the sauce, I just whacked out a tin of caramel from the cupboard and microwaved it.
My Verdict. Tastes lovely, bit dense for my liking though. The sauce and cake together were a bit sickly so either less sauce, less cake, or use ice cream instead. Overall it's great, especially for the time it took! Definitely going to be made at Uni :)

Why not try it yourself??

Pancake Day!!

Its pancake day! Everyone smile! :D
Quite obviously one of the best days of the year. The perfect excuse to just eat pancakes all day long. I hope you've all had at least one pancake, or planning on it. My lunch today consisted of:
2 good old lemon and sugar pancakes
1 fancy little ice cream raspberry sandwich
1 huge pancake filled with more ice cream and even more raspberries.
Yum
Looks amazing, even if I say so myself. So little and cute :)
And so hard to eat. Good thing I see nothing wrong with finger licking..

Until next time,

Sugar, Air and Fairy Dust: Part I

So, I decided to make marshmallows this weekend. Woo :)
I found a recipe I liked and tried it out so that when I make a proper batch for Easter i'll have it perfect (Hopefully). It ingredients are in the title, sugar, air and fairy dust. Everyone knows that's how you make them, obviously.
I was a bit late starting them than I hoped as I went driving, so I was a bit rushed and crowded as my mum was making Sunday roast at the same time. And wow sugar takes a long time to get to the right temperature, I was telling my thermometer off because it kept telling me the temperature was decreasing even though it was boiling rapidly. Yeesh. But it came together finally and let me tell you, unset marshmallow looks (and tastes) amazing! Wish I took a photo of me pouring it. but ah well, here's the photos that I did take.

Success!
Kinda.
They're definitely squishy and tasting of marshmallow :)
However, Tips for myself next time.
Maybe add some vanilla and colouring, Pour into a smaller tin so that they get thicker, maybe mix for longer, don't leave uncovered over night to set (a crust developed) and finally, line the tin better so it doesn't stick as much.
Well, hope you enjoyed this post, ill be back soon.

Why hello, fancy seeing you here ;)

So this is my first ever blog and I don't really know what to write. How impressive of me. So yeah, I like decorating cakes and baking. I have quite a sweet tooth, so i'd click the little 'x' in the top right corner if you detest of such sugary sweetness :D
I've not baked anything recently but i'm definitely going to soon! I'm in between trying out marshmallows, toffee apples and just a general cake. Hmm... I wonder which it'll be...

So I'd stay posted so that you find out ;)
